The house was checked for CO and we found 0 ppm. E21 took the drive and stretched a 1 3/4 line to the back of the garage where light fire was showing. Crewa pulled soffits and knock down the the exterior fire before repositioning the line interior to check for extensions. Crews began extensive overhaul to confirm extinguishment. |

Investigation found a fire in the fireplace. Inspection of the chimney cap and found the cap to be completely blocked from soot, ash, and debris. Shortly after checking enroute, E11 was requested to the scene instead. Crews were requested to the Charlie side for suppression. Crew utilized a 2.5" line for fire attack and access was gained through the Charlie side wall. Crew remained on the Charlie side for the duration of the incident performing fire attack/overhaul. After rehab, crew assisted making entry through a metal wall on the north side, and shortly after was cleared by command. The homeowner extinguished the fire and opened the soffit prior to our arrival. Due to a Tornado Warning activation in Shiawsee County, the Fire Chief
dispatched the department in prepation of the storrm. Shortly after
activation, multiple calls were recevied with several trees and wires
down, a AMA to Gaines Twp for a structure fire that was unfounded as
well as a propane tanked flipped over by the storm and another location
for a natual gas order that was unfounded. SCAFD crews responded with
E11, E12, E21, E22, T23, G17, S26 to the calls received and removed
trees, secure wires in the roadways. The storm hit the Morrish Rd west to Seymour Rd between Lennon Rd and Corunna. Several power poles and electrical wires as well as commnunicationlines and poled were taken down in the area. Crews stoodby at these location until Consumers Power and Frontier Phones Co. arrived on scene. |

Upon arrival nothing was noted from the exterior of the structure. The crew made contact with the Maintenance Director who stated no alarms were sounding but there was a dry system water flow. The crew checked the attic space where the dry system is and no water or hazard was noted. Call was upgraded to a Structure Fire and AMA was dispatched. C1, E11 and E21 responded. C1 on arrival found a faint amount of smoke in the lower level coming from the mechanical room . Homeowner had turned off the main power. Lines were down in the back yard, all AMA was canceled. Was also advised a neighbor had flames from an outlet this was also investigated. C1, E11, E21, E12, T23 along with AMA from Flushing and Gaines responded. On scene, front door with smoke showing. E21's crew stretched a 1 3/4 line to the front door and put a knock on the fire. E11 on arrival made entry with Flushing C1 to confirm extinguishment and begin overhaul. On E12 arrival they spoke with the occupants ensuring everyone was out and then conducted a CO investigation. Finding readings of 0 ppm, E21 was returned to quarters. Further investigation revealed that there wasn’t an actual alarm that sounded. 25-187 | 18 | 9/7 | 0818 | 5,000 block of Durwood Dr, Swartz Creek | Dispatched at the request of EMS for a home that was filled with toxic fumes that resulted from the occupants mixing 2 different types of cleaners in the toilet. C2, E12 and E21 responded. On C2 arrival, met EMS in the driveway. The paramedic stated that there was 1 occupant who appeared non ambulatory still in the home. The response was upgraded to Code 3l. The medic said there was a visible cloud of an unknown gas in the home. HE-12 crew opened the patio door on the C side of the home while and the PPV fan was set up at the D side entry door to clear out the hallway and kitchen to rapidly extricate the other occupant. C1, E12, C21, E22 responded and arrived to find a 2 story multifamily building with nothing showing Crew made entry with a water can and found the hallway and given apartment to have light smoke. Owner stated that there was a fire in the oven. The electric oven was unplugged, occupants extinguished the fire prior to our arrival with a dry chemical extinguisher. Turned on and ran basement appliances to make sure there was no visible leaks. Informed home owner to call again if they smelled gas a second time and to reach out to a plumber to verify gas lines are all fully intact and functional.
