Seymour Rd.  C1 on scene investigation found a fuel oil storage drum being burned for usage as a pig roaster. 5 18 01/11 0750 2,000 mile of McKinley Rd, Clayton Township Dispatched for a tree removal from a call by a school bus driver. E21 & E11 responded. 9 18 01/22 1524 4,000 block of Windsor Ct, Swartz Creek Dispatched to a odor investigation. C4 & E12 responded. On scene, the occupant indicated she was unable to tolerate an odor from the furnace vents. The smell was believed to be that of a dead animal. 11 1 01/26 0049 1,000 mile of S. Sheridan Rd, Clayton Township Responded to a fully involved pole building fire with AMA from FFD, GTFD and VTFD. 12 2 01/29 1813 10,000 mile of W. Mt. Morris Rd, Flushing Township Dispatched as AMA to assist the FFD with a potential structure.  Flushing C2 on scene reported smoke in the back of the house. E22 responded with 5.  Just a crews arrived on scene, they were returned to service as the FFD brought the situation under control. Capt. Tim McKnight (R) 9 8 B
13 2 01/30 2016 5,000 mile of N. Seymour Rd, Flushing Township Responded as AMA to assist the FFD with a potential chimney fire. 911 reported 2' flames coming from the chimney flue.  E22 responded with 5, but was canceled, as the FFD crew was able to bring the fire under control before arrival. 16 1 02/04 0528 2,000 mile of S. Morrish Rd, Clayton Township Dispatched for a potential structure with AMA form GTFD & FFD. C1 on scene was advised the fire may be out.  CTPD (fire extinguisher) & owner (water) extinguished the fire. AMA was canceled with E12 & E21 responding only to investigate with thermal imaging cameras.  The fire was confined to a bathroom without structural damage.  Smoke detectors alerted the residents of the fire. 18 6 02/11 0006 EB I-69, E of Morrish, Swartz Creek Dispatched for a car fire. C4 on scene reported the fire to be minor. E11 continued while all other units were held at their stations. 20 2 02/15 1319 7,000 mile of W. Potter Rd, Flushing Township Dispatched as AMA to assist the FFD with a chimney fire. E22 with 3, laddered the roof to remove the chimney cap.  E12, with 3, stood by on scene.  The fire was removed from the fire box & a dry chemical extinguisher was used to extinguish the fire. 21 18 02/15 2318 8,000 mile of Miller Rd, Swartz Creek Responded to a report of an odor of natural gas. C4 & E12 responded.  Investigation found the pilot light out for the hot water heater. 23 1 02/19 1445 5,000 block of Helmsley Dr, Swartz Creek Responded to a residential structure fire with AMA from GTFD & FFD. C2 on scene reported light smoke showing. C4 assumed OPS while C2 assumed IC. E12 crew advanced a cross lay to the seat of the fire for extinguishment. E11 & E21, with GTFD assisted with extinguishment & overhaul. FFD stood by as RIT. Asst. 33 16 03/08 1215 10,000 mile of Calkins Rd & Corunna Rd near Morrish, Clayton Township Responded to a report of wires down & smoking. E21 responded with 2.  Investigation determined a primary wire broke when a tree fell against it.  Part of the wire caused another tree to burn at the top.  CE was notified. Before leaving, another call was received for low hanging wire across Corunna Rd.  E22 & E11 responded and removed the wire. Chief Brent Cole (C-R) 4 5 2
34 16 03/08 1528 5,000 block of S. Seymour Rd, Swartz Creek L9 was advised by the  Swartz Creek DPS of a report of a tree down in the back yard. Investigation determined the magnitude of the alarm required 911 dispatch.  E11 (on Greenleaf Dr) & E21 (on Seymour Rd) responded.   A large pine tree fell against primary & secondary wires cause wires down and burn of the pine tree.  CE was notified.  Caution tape was used to secure the area and those resident at home were advised of the situation. 35 2 03/08 1639 100 block of W. Henry St., Flushing Dispatched as AMA to assist the FFD with a basement fire. E22 (4) and E12 (4) responded.  Crews established RIT & assisted with reloading hose.  E12 left the scene early to respond to alarm 36. Chief Brent Cole (R) 8 6 B
36 16 03/08 1718 7,000 mile of Miller Rd, Swartz Creek While on scene at alarm 35, alarm received for wires down. E12 responded from alarm 35 while E11 responded from station 1.   Investigation determined a tree had fallen on the service lines to the house pulling the meter mast from the house.  The tree prevented access to the meter.  The main breaker was turned off & caution tape was put into place while CE was notified.  A 4 to 6 hour CE response was advised to the occupant. Seymour Rd, Swartz Creek Dispatched to a potential wires arcing call.  C4 & E11 on scene investigation determined the sun was caused the belief that was were arcing, when it was actually the sun reflecting off a tag.  The location had been without power since 03/08.  No action was taken. 41 5 03/12 0957 WB I-69 between I-75 & Bristol Rd, Flint Township While participating in alarm 40, the SCAFD was dispatched for a grass fire on WB I69 at Miller Rd.  On scene, it was determined the alarm was actually in Flint Township.  Since they were tied up with alarm 40, E12 broke from the scene and assisted G17 with multiple fires in the area. 46 1 03/16 1707 100 block of Brookfield Dr., Swartz Creek Responded to residential structure fire with AMA from GTFD & FFD. C4 on scene reported fire at the rear of the structure spreading to the attic from the exterior. E12, E21, E11, E22 & S16 responded.  Crews extinguished the fire with extensive overhaul.  2 adults & 3 children were displaced with assistance from the American Red Cross. Batt. 47 6 03/21 1229 EB I-69 W of Nichols, Clayton Township Dispatched for a vehicle fire.  C1 on scene reported working vehicle fire. The EB expressway was restricted to the left passing lane.  Once E11 was near the rest area crossover, the traffic was shut down so E11, with 3,  could drive against traffic.  On scene crews extinguished the vehicle fire & associated grass fire.  The traffic was re-opened. 48 18 03/22 2254 7,000 block of Lou Mac Dr., Clayton Township Responded to a report of a gas odor in a residence. C1, E21 & E12 responded. On scene investigation was unable to find a flammable or non-flammable odor. It was suggested to the homeowner to purchase a CO detector & contact CE for more thorough investigation. 49 15 03/23 1154 EB Miller Rd, east of I-69, Swartz Creek C1 passing by stopped when it was noticed there was a fluid spill from a 2 vehicle PDA with Metro PD already on scene. A conference with the Police Officer confirmed the need for the FD to remove the hazard.  E11, with 3 and S16, with 2, assisted with traffic control and spill removal with absorbent. 54 18 04/02 0640 8,000 mile of Corunna Rd, Clayton Township Responded to a report of an odor of natural gas by a passer by. C1 & E21 investigated the buildings in the area.  Since no gas leak was detected next to any buildings, but was detected in the right of way, it was reported to CE there was a potential underground leak. Seymour Rd, Clayton Township Responded to a report of a potential structure fire with AMA from FFD & GTFD.  C1 on scene reported no smoke of detector activation so all AMA was canceled.  E21 & E12 were the only units requested to continue to investigate with thermal imaging.  After an extensive investigation, it was discovered that a surge protector had over heated in an upstairs bedroom. S32 responded with E11 along with S16.  Crews were on scene for almost 5 hours blocking the roadway due to low hanging wires. Chief 4, while in the area, investigated a Open Burn call dispatched for Flint Twp. Fire. Being on a 5 point jurisdictional line, Chief 4 determined incident was located in the SCAFD fire district. FTFD units arrived and extinguished the fire. Chief 4 handled the report.
