14 9 02/01 2101 7,000 area of LouMac Dr., Clayton Township Dispatched to a report of a recreational burn in the area reported by a Sheriff Paramedic.  Earlier a burn noticed was received.  Since the it was after dark & not attended, the fire was extinguished.  E21 responded. 15 1 02/04 1648 7,000 mile of Calkins Rd., Clayton Township Responded to a potential structure fire with AMA from FFD & GTFD.  911 reported a pot on the stove was on fire.  On scene it was reported the fire was out.  GTFD was cancelled and FFD was returned.  PPV was set up and the Thermal Imager was used to verify extinguishment.  E21, E11, E12 & S16 responded. 17 15 02/09 1004 WB I-69 between Nichols & Duffield, Clayton Township Responded to a report of a PI accident, in median.  On scene, it was determined a vehicle had crossed the median and struck a semi.  In the process, one of the fuel tanks ruptured.  Agencies were contacted for clean up.  E11 responded, from a station 2 training session. Bristol Rd., Clayton Township Dispatched to a residential fire alarm.  Before arrival, 911 indicated that there was also a panic activation.  E11 & E21 staged away from the scene for the CTPD to investigate the situation.  E11 proceeded with CTPD permission, E21 returned. 21 16 02/28 2252 5,000 block of Oakview Dr., Swartz Creek Responded to a report of wire arcing.  Investigation determined the primary feed from the fuse cut off to the transformer was arcing.  Consumers was contacted and the reporting individual was advised.  E11 responded with 6. 23 17 03/02 1238 Pine Run Dr., Clayton Township Responded to a request from an ambulance for a lift assist with a man on a construction site in an 8' deep hole.  By the time SCAFD crews arrived, the construction worker had been removed from the hole.  E11 & E21 initially responded. Elms Rd., Clayton Township 911 dispatched the SCAFD to stand by at their respective stations.  A bomb threat had been received by the occupants of a commercial building.  Protocol is for fire units to stand by in house until the situation dictates a response.  Investigation by CTPD and Genesee County did not reveal any threat. 31 1 03/28 1820 7,000 mile of Miller Rd., Swartz Creek Dispatched to a smoke investigation.  On scene investigation determined there was a heat tape in the ceiling above a women bathroom that had been plugged in, casing a slow release of smoke over a long period of time.  Crews found it difficult to find the source of the smoke, but eventually did by accessing the attic area.  Mutual aid stand by was requested from FFD & GTFD.  E11, E21, E12, S16 responded. Nichols Rd., Clayton Township Responded to a report of a field fire at the intersection of Calkins & Nichols.  In the area, it was determined the fire was just north of Corunna Rd.  The owner was conducting a controlled agriculture ditch burn.  Discussion concluded the winds were to strong to continue the burn.  G27 responded with 3. 38 1 04/05 1237 12,000 area of Peter B St., Clayton Township/Village of Lennon Responded to a report of a structure fire.  AMA was received from FFD, GTFD & VTFD.  Before arrival, the Lennon Police reported the fire was out.  AMA was cancelled.  On scene investigation and interview determined a heat lamp may have caused the fire.  The structure was ventilated and the wall was checked for extension. 39 9 04/05 1420 12,000 mile of Old Miller Rd., Clayton Township Dispatched to an out of control brush burn.  On scene, it was determined the fire required a mutual aid response due to the wooded area being on fire.  FFD, GTFD & VTFD were requested.  4-5 acres of field & wooded area were involved.  G27, G17, T23 & E11 responded.  15 SCAFD personnel were utilized. 43 9 04/09 1506 Beecher Rd. & RR tracks, Clayton Township Before completely clearing alarm 42, this alarm was dispatched.  IC diverted the FFD to this incident.  Batt. Chief Badder, FFD, was IC.  The fire was along the RR tracks from just north of Beecher Rd. to the village of Lennon.  Multiple departments were requested, which eventually activated coordination.  G27, G17, S16 & T23 were utilized. 52 5 04/16 1815 Owosso City Dispatched to cover the VTFD area, but soon after were redirected to respond to assist the Owosso City Fire Dept. with a large vacant manufacturing structure fully involved, covering 1 city block.  E12 & T23 responded.  E12 assist with exposure protection while T23 stood by in case there was a lose of water pressure. 53 9 04/16 2358 1,000 mile of S. Nichols Rd., Clayton Township Just after clearing run 52, an alarm was received indicating a tree was on fire.  Investigation determined an agricultural burn had caught dead trees on fire.  A chainsaw was used to fall the trees & extinguish them.  G27 responded while G17 stood by on scene. 54 9 04/17 1136 West of the intersection of Nichols Rd. & Calkins Rd., Clayton Township Dispatched to a grass fire.  On scene it was reported a tire was on fire with a grass fire proceeding north along a creek embankment.  G27 on scene extinguished the tire fire, then proceeded to the creek embankment.  G27 then back tracked to extinguish any known hot spots. 55 9 04/17 1543 West of the intersection of Nichols Rd. & Calkins Rd., Clayton Township Responded to a report of a tree on fire next to the RR tracks on Calkins Rd.  Directions didn't indicate the fire was at the location associated with run 54.  After investigating to Duffield Rd., the fire was found in the area for run 54.  A dead tree had smoldered & was periodically giving off smoke.  The tree was pulled down & extinguished.  G27 responded.  G17 was cancelled enroute. 57 9 04/18 1356 M-13 & RR tracks, Clayton Township Responded to a report of a grass fire near Lennon Rd. & M-13.  On scene, it was determined that the VTFD, while extinguishing a grass in their area, continued & handle the 20' x 50' fire in our area.  POV personnel assisted them & cancelled G27 & G17 before arrival. 63 9 05/06 2303 11,000 mile of Corunna Rd., Clayton Township Responded to a report of a grass in the ditch.  On scene interview with the caller report a male had caused the fire... the info was reported to 911 for the CTPD to investigate.  G27 extinguished the fire. Chief Brent Cole (C-R)

67 13 05/12 2336 M-13 & Corunna Rd., Clayton Township Responded to a report of a vehicle fire with entrapment.  While responding, Shiawassee County dispatched VTFD to same incident.  On scene size up determined the initial vehicle in question was in Venice Township.  A secondary vehicle, involved in the collision, was on the Clayton Township side.  SCAFD crews assist the ambulance with removing the patient from the secondary vehicle.  The passenger side doors were removed to assist in the effort.  E21 & E11 responded.  E11 was cancelled before arrival. Once E12 connected to the hydrant, it's crew placed another 1 3/4" line off E11 to the first floor.  E21 provided additional personnel along with FFD & GTFD.  Once the fire was declared under control at 1123, the GTFD crew was assigned to stand by at station to cover the fire district.  Overhaul was performed along with an investigation of the cause.
