The following page was created to pay tribute to those individuals, although no longer with us, who contributed to the betterment of the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department.

In loving memory of

Firefighter/Marine Lance Cpl. Brandon Webb
April 12, 1986 - June 20, 2006
Brandon was born on April 12, 1986 in Mesa, AZ. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Brandon was a member of the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department, VFW Post #3720 and Amvets. He enjoyed baseball, golf and hockey. Surviving are mother, Ann Christofferson of Swartz Creek; brother, Austin Christofferson of Phoenix, AZ; father, Kevin Webb of Chandler, AZ; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of special friends.


Although you were with us only a short time, you touched us in a way that will not be forgotten.
Thank you Brandon for being a part of the SCAFD and serving your country so honorably.

Memorial Tributes


In memory of the passing of Donald F. Plumb on May 27, 2004, in Largo Florida, father of Bob Plumb & grandfather of Dave Plumb, current members of the SCAFD.

In memorial of Past Mayor & Fireboard Member Dennis Allen, who passed away on May 10, 2004.  Mayor Allen served the Fireboard from December 1996 through August 2001.

The SCAFD extends our deepest sympathy to past members Tom & Dave Spillane and families due to the passing of their father, Don on May 5, 2004.

The SCAFD wants to extend our deepest sympathy to Fireboard Chairman Michael Messer and family due to the passing of his father Richard on March 30, 2002.

The SCAFD pays tribute to past Firefighter Keith Welch, who passed away in Missouri on April 4, 2002.

The graphic above is posted in memory of the passing of Battalion Chief Jack King's mother on May 3, 2002.
Our sympathy goes out to Jack and his family.
On May 19, during the association meeting, Jack presented $235.00, donated in the memory of Myrtle King-Johnston to be used towards the purchase of Freddie The Fire Truck.
A big thank you to the King-Johnston Family!

Rick's photo was moved here when Brandon Webb passed away. Rick was an active member of the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department for 21 years and served as a firefighter, Lieutenant, and radio operator.  Rick passed away September 23, 2002.

Captain Kim O'Guin passed away on October 4, 2009.  Kim was a member of the SCAFD during the late 1970's and early 80's at station 2.
His leadership, although over 20 years ago, is still felt to this day.

Lieutenant James Barr passed away October 13, 2009.  James was a member of the SCAFD from 1985 to 1997 with Station 3.  His son, James Barr II has been a member since 1995.

Captain Dan Hyrman, passed away November 4, 2014, was a member of the SCAFD from 1980 to approx. 1988 at Station 3.  He was a charter member when Station 3 originally opened.  Thank you for your service.

Assistant Fire Chief Louis Merriam, passed away March 16, 2018. Chief Merriam was a member of the SCAFD from 1978-1984. Chief Merriam was a charter member when Station 2 origially opened.
