14 02/02 2155 Potter Rd., between Lost Creek & Morrish Rd., Clayton Township Dispatched to a primary high voltage wire tower down alarm after FFD had already arrived on scene.  A vehicle ran into the base of the tower, causing it to fall across Potter Rd. on to another vehicle.  Both vehicle were on the SCAFD fire district side.  Engine 21 taped off the road way. 15 02/03 0019 8,000 block of Miller Rd., Swartz Creek Responded to a report of wire arcing.  Investigation determined a power line feeding 4 street lights was acing against a ground wire.  All the wires were cut & Consumers Energy was notified.  Engine 11 responded with 3. 27 02/25 2025 8,000 mile of Corunna Rd., Clayton Township Dispatched to an unknown fire from a neighbor.  On scene investigation determined a resident was burn brush after dark.  He had obtained a burning authorization, but had been instructed not to burn after dark.  He was advised not to place anymore material on the fire.  Engines 21 & 11 responded. 28 02/26 1135 4,000 block of S. Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek Responded to a report of a vehicle fire next to gas pumps.  911 advised the pumps were shut down.  On arrival, no fire was visible.  The owner has spilled some oil on hot engine parts causing a smoke scare.  Engine 11 responded with 3, code 1 for the report. Hill Rd., Swartz Creek Dispatched to a gas leak next to a house.  Investigation determined a vehicle had backed into a gas meter beside the house and left the scene.  SCPD were requested while the gas valve was shut off.  The house was ventilated.  Consumers on scene advised there was still a leak under ground, but excused the crew on scene.  Engine 11 responded with 2. 53 04/07 1516 One Dragon Dr., Swartz Creek Responded to a report of a grass fire in the woods area behind the high school.  On scene investigation an area approximately 300' from an access had caught fire that included pallets & old furniture.  An 1 1/2" line was stretched to the area to extinguish the fire.  Grass 17 & 27 along with Engine 11 responded. 60 04/18 0121 Nichols Rd., south of Beecher Rd. at the RR tracks, Clayton Township Dispatched to a grass fire adjacent to the road.  On scene, after discussions with the caller, a small grass fire was evident.  The caller indicated that someone had started several leaf bags, that had been abandoned for some time, on fire.  The wind, from the SW, help keep the fire from spreading.  Grass 27 & 17 responded.  17 was cancelled once the fire was under control. 61 04/19 1503 7,000 block of Aldredge Dr., Clayton Township Responded to a report of wire arcing.  Investigation revealed wires had burned at the pole.  The caller advised he had contacted Consumers and was to shut of his main breaker until they arrived.  Engine 11 responded. 68 04/25 1518 9,000 mile of Beecher Rd., Clayton Township Responded to a report of an attic fire.  AMA from FFD & GTFD was dispatched.  On scene investigation determined a fire above the bathroom, in the attic area, had created a smoke from the roof vents, that was reported by the neighbor to the home owner.  The owner used a garden hose to help control the fire in the attic.  The AMA was cancelled.  SCAFD crews pulled the ceiling in the bathroom area to discover an electrical problem caused the insulation and ceiling joist to smolder.  The debris was removed from the structure.  Engines 21, 11 & 12, Tanker 23 & Squad 16 responded. 69 04/29 1528 6,000 mile of Miller Rd., Swartz Creek Dispatched to a potential grass fire in the area of a new house under construction.  On scene investigation found a 6' diameter pile of straw that was smoldering.  The fire was extinguished with the cause undetermined.  Grass 17 responded. 136 8/25 1920 9,000 mile of Calkins Rd., Clayton Township Dispatched to cement block wall collapse at a residence.  On scene size up determine the Michigan Urban Search And Rescue Team (USAR), stationed in Grand Blanc would be needed to help extricate the 2 victims pinned under the porch area.  Heavy excavation equipment was also summoned by 911, but was not used.  One patient was removed before USAR arrived on scene, but were instrumental in removing the 2nd patient.  Clayton Township Officials on scene determined the basement and porch areas needed to be shored up, as it was unknown if further collapse was possible.  MiOSHA was also contacted, based on the nature of the situation.  Engines 21, 11 & Squads 16 & 26 responded.  FFD stood by for additional alarms at station 2. 140 08/30 1321 WB I-69, west of Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek Dispatched to vehicle fire with entrapment.  FTFD was requested as mutual aid.  On scene size up determined a passenger vehicle had collided with a semi-trailer & was pinned ahead of the trailer axles.  The vehicle was fully involved with fire.  E11 extinguished the fire.  The occupant was declared a fatality by a Genesee County Paramedic.  SCPD, with assistance from other police agencies, investigated the scene before the remains were extricated from the vehicle.  2 wreckers from Precision Auto & 1 from Complete were used to remove the vehicle from the semi-trailer.  The Genesee County Road Commission provided a front end loader to remove the debris and permission was given to wash down the road way.  E21 was cancelled before arrival.  FTFD E31 stood by at station for the duration.  Chief Brent Cole (C-R)

155 09/22 1450 2,000 area of Plainview Dr., Clayton Township Dispatched to a structure fire, with AMA from FFD & GTFD.  Before arrival, smoke was visible from Calkins Rd. & Elms Rd.  On scene size up determined an attached garages exterior wall, away from the main structure, was on fire & had ventilated through the roof.  The bulk of the fire was confined to the B sector of the structure.  Crews arriving on scene, entered the building through the front door for extinguishment.  A hole in the garage roof was made to apply water between the fire location and the main structure.  A FFD firefighter, while on the roof, fell through, into the garage.  He was transported to a local medical facility.  Once the fire was brought under control, fire extension potential was check & overhaul was performed.  GTFD stood by at station 1, while FFD was placed in service, on location, to respond to alarms. 160 10/05 1933 5,000 block of Birchcrest Dr., Swartz Creek Responded to a report of a potential structure fire.  Heavy smoke was reported before arrival.  Once in the area, the source of the smoke wasn't immediately found.  An ATV air filter, while being worked on in a garage, caught fire.  The filter was thrown outside, while the ATV was extinguished by the owner.  Shortly after, it was discovered that some bushes next to the house had caught fire by the air filter.  This fire was extinguished with a garden hose.  All units staged during the investigation and E11 taking the report.  E12, E21 & S16 also responded.
