On arrival, the Semi had its hood up with a lot of white steam mistaken as smoke coming from the engine area. The driver advised he threw a belt and had help on the way. 4 16 1/11 0952 1,000 block of S/ Van Vleet, Clayton Twp. Dispatched to a report of a grass fire caused by down power wires. E21 and C2 responded. 5 18 1/13 0418 7,000 block of Springbrook Ct, Swartz Creek Responded for a report a CO alarm activation. C2 & E12 responded. Investigation found that the detector had reached it end of service. 6 1 1/13 1719 2,000 block of Rosewood Dr, Clayton Twp Dispatched along with our AMA from Gaines and Flushing for a residential structure fire. C2, C1, E12, E21, E22, E11 responded. Flushing C1 arrived to find a working fire. Investigation found heavy black smoke. E12 arrived and stretched a1 ¾ through the garage and extinguished the fire with minimal water. Flushing crew assisted with ventilation. E-21 prepped the hydrant in the cul-de-sac. Further investigation found the homeowner had a bag of popcorn in the microwave when the fire occurred. Fire appears to have stated inside the microwave, then spread to the cabinets above it. Assist Chief Stephen Tabit (C,R) 11 7 B
7 5 1/13 1755 3,000 block of Flushing Rd, Flint Twp. While on incident #6, Flint Twp Fire requested Flushing and Swartz Creek for mutual aid on a 2nd box alarm on a commercial structure fire. E21 and Flushing crew cleared incident #6 and responded. E21 stood by at Flint Twp station 1 to cover alarms in their district. While on standby, E21 was requested to the scene to assist in investigating another fire call. The TI was used to determine there was no fire and only a malfunctioning washing machine. E21 crew returned to Flint Twp Sta.1 until cleared by Flint Twp IC Capt. Tim McKnight (R) 13 7 B

10 8 1/17 1423 9,000 block of Miller Rd, Clayton Twp. While driving on Miller Rd, C1 observed a BBQ grill pit on fire with a vinyl canopy over the pit also on fire. C1 requested dispatch. E11 responded as well as Swartz EMS to evaluate an employee. Chief Dave Plumb (C,R) 3 5 1

14 2 1/29 1352 8,000 block fo Brook Dr, Flushing Dispatched AMA to with Flushing for a residenatial structure fire, T23 and E12 responded. On arrival T23 supplied Flushings lead engine with water. Investigation found no odor of natual gas or indication of an gas leak.  Further investigation found that the owner had just turned on the furnace after it being off for a extended period. 18 7 2/6 0853 WB I 69 WO of S. Seymour Rd, Clayton Twp. Dispatched to the area of I-69 near Seymour Rd for a vehicle fire. E11 responded with 6. Investigation found a vehicle that wad overheating. 19 14 2/8 0620 4,000 block of S. Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek Responded for an electrical problem in the parking lot of a commercial business. C2 responded. Investigation found an underground box that was exposed and that was full of boiling water from what appeared to be a short circuit underground that was heating the water. 21 6 2/16 1907 EB I 69 @ Rest Area, Clayton Twp. Responded for a vehicle fire at the rest area. C2 & E11 responded. Arrival found passenger car on fire in the truck parking lot with no exposures. E11 stretched a 1 3/4 line to extinguish the fire. The fire appeared to have originated in the engine compartment and extended into the dashboard. Assist Chief Stephen Tabit (C,R) 9 4 1
22 5 2/21 1804 9,00 block of Circle Lake Dr. Mundy Twp. Dispatched on a box alarm to assist Mundy Twp on a residential structure fire with tanker and manpower. C1, E11, T23, T24 responded. SCAFD crews assisted with fire suppression. E11 established water supply with a port-a-tanks and tankers provided water until fire was brought under control. Batt. Chief Brendt Cole 11 7 B
23 1 2/22 0506 5,000 block of S. Seymour Rd, Swatz Creek Responded for a residential structure fire. C2, E12 & E21 responded with AMA from FLF & GAF f. Investigation found the odor of burnt wood or paper in the lower level. The police officers reported seeing a light haze of smoke, but I saw nothing. 26 1 2/25 1126 4,000 block of Kroger Dr, Swartz Creek Dispatched for a commercial structure fire. E12 & e21 responded along with along with our AMA from FLF & GAF. Investigation found the odor of electrical smoke and see a slight haze. All rooms in the facility were checked for signs of fire but we were not able to locate anything.  The facility was advised to have a HVAC technician inspect the system. Lieut. Walt Melen (C,R) 8 2 B

27 9 3/1 1935 1,000 block of S. Morrish Rd, Clayton Twp. Responded for a large grass fire near the Cole Creek drain. C2, G17 & G27 responded. Investigation found a large open burn about 20 feet off the road. This fire was about 10 ft in diameter with 6-8-foot flames, and a strong wind blowing form south to north. The trees were burning about 10 feet above the fire. Homeowner was advised fire should have been out by dark and always must be attended. Due to the trees were on fire, it was not considered a controlled burn, G27 extinguished the fire. Assist Chief Stephen Tabit (R)

28 18 3/7 0339 5,000 block of McLain St, Swartz Creek Dispatched for a CO alarm.  C2 & E12 responded. Crews found the home checked for CO (0ppm) The detector was found to be 9 years old and the audible alarm code was indicating end of service. The occupant was advised the replace the unit. 29 9 3/9 1623 2,000 block of Lost Creek Dr, Clayton Twp. Responded for a grass fire. C2, G17, G27 responded. Investigation found an area about 100 X 100 on fire in a field behind the caller's address. 32 9 3/12 1347 7,000 block of Miller Rd, Swartz Creek Dispatched to a house full of natural gas. C2 and E12 responded. Investigation found all the windows and doors were open. The occupants stated that they were gone for 4 days and returned to find a gas burner partially on and strong odor of natural gas in their home.  Home was found clear after investigation. 33 16 3/13 1106 5,000 block of Daval Dr, Swartz Creek Responded to wires arcing. C2 & E11 responded. Investigation found a secondary pole to pole lines that were tangled up in the trees in the back yard. There was no arcing or sparking while units were on scene and power was still on in the area. Investigation found the caller started a brush fire and it got out of control and was going towards the neighbor's property. 38 12 3/22 0550 4,000 block of Kroger Dr, Swartz Creek Dispatched for a commercial fire alarm/ C2, E12, E21 and C1 responded. Investigation found the audible and visual alarms going off inside and out on arrival. Further, the air compressor in the south mechanical room hot to the touch and air or water moving through the plumbing on riser and the pipes that was cold to the touch. Facility maintenance arrived and believes there is a problem with an air switch on the dry side of the system and advised he would call the suppression system company to repair the system. 40 16 3/29 1308 8,000 block of Cappy Ln, Swartz Creek Dispatched to a report of arching wires. E12 responded. Investigation found when the wind blew it caused the branches to rub on the wires causing sparking every 5-10 minutes. Situation was turned over to Consumers was notified.  Homeowners were advised to stay away from the area and call back if the wires were to fall or catch the tree on fire. Lieut. Investigation found a enjoying the night  around a firepit in their front yard. The firepit was of the raised and covered version allowed within the municipality, no violation was found. Lieut. Further investigation found an illiegal burn of non approved materials in a burn pit. 51 10 5/2 1957 2,000 block of N. Morrish Rd, Clayton Twp Responded for an open burn complaint. G17 G27 responded. Investigation found a large open burn was found in an open field with large branches and brush being burned. Owner was advised to call in burn permit in the future, but since there were no violations, was allowde to continue to burn. Lieut. Rob Fitzpatrick (C,R) 11 3 2

53 1 5/7 0857 5,000 block of Greanleaf Dr, Swartz Creek Responded with AMA from Flushing and Gaines for a residential structure fire. C2, E12 and E21 responded. Update advised the front porch on fire and that a good Samaritans were trying to put the fire out with extinguishers and a garden hose. On arrival C2 found  light smoke showing from the attached deck on the front of the house, it appeared that most of the open flame was extinguished. 54 6 5/7 2101 6,000 block of Miller Rd, Swartz Creek Dispatched for a vehicle fire at a 3 car accident. C2, C1, E11, E21 & E12 responded. Swartz, Metro PD, and GCSD were on scene prior to our arrival. Arrival on scene found one vehicle fully involved. All occupants were out of all of the vehicles. Investigation found a small excavator in the driveway with natural gas blowing from the hole. The property owner was digging in a attempt to clear a plugged culvert under the driveway. Investigation of the exterior found nothing, but the audible alarm could be heard inside the building. A better location was given than before and the incident was found a 1/2 mile away from the original location. Investigation revealed that lightening hit a tree in the front yard and there was an odor of gas coming up from the hole in the ground. The tree had considerable damage and the earthen around the tree had a large hole in it. The homes in the area were checked and the meters looked intact, there were no signs of blowing or hissing, nor was there a rush of gas going through the meter that may have indicated a problem inside the homes. Several providers were contacted all denied responsibility for the line, an attempt to avoid interupting phone service to the area by not cutting the line during investigation was made. Cracked bricks were visible on the exterior of the building, and the wall coverings on the inside were pushed in 3in and had damage as well. C2, & E11 responded, A tall truck hooked the communication lines and wrapped them around the primary power lines. The arcing caused a large power outage in the area. When CE arrived on the scene, they requested us for traffic control once the other crew arrived since they will have to close all 5 lanes of Miller Rd. SCDPS stated they did not have the resources to close the whole road. Metro Police arrived on the scene and requested that we handle the traffic control since they were dispatched to a welfare check. Investigation found an electrical outlet in the floor of the 2nd floor scorched and signs of a fire extinguisher used. Interview with the homeowner advised that there was a flame & smoke coming from the outlet, homeowner used flour then an extinguisher to put out the fire. Investigation with the TI found no extension, all AMA units were released. Tripped breaker was isolated and turned off. E12 arrival stretched 1 3/4 to the garage and knocked the bulk of the fire down before extension to the second floor. Crews stretched another line interior to confirm no extension and a 3rd line was put in service to assist the extinguishment of a van on fire in the driveway (exposure 1) which suffered severe damage. E12 driver and C2 established water supply from the hydrant in front of the residence. E11, E21 and AMA units assisted with extensive overhaul to confirm extinguishment. Thermal Imaging camera was used to confirmed with no hidden fires or extension.

109 5 8/1 0446 5,000 block of Mark David Dr, Gaines Twp Responded for a report of a vehicle entrapment in the woods behind the callers house in the 9000 block of Chesterfield. C1, E11 & E21 responded. C1 arrived on scene with Metro PD and Genesee County Medic to find a car in the back yard of the adjoining neighborhood. Car was located in Gaines Twp's Fire district. SCAFD units were advised to enter through the Gaines Twp subdivision for easier access. Investigation found that the car was in the driveway in the 5000 block of Mark David and driver accelerated through the closed garage door, out the back of the garage, where it became airborne and flipped up against the fence. While responding we were advised that the vehicle crossed over into Shiawassee County and there was no entrapment. E11 and E12 were canceled, while continuing E21. Investigation revealed a vehicle in three pieces several hundred feet off the road in a corn field. C-4 evaluated the situation and determined that personnel would be needed to carry the lone occupant out of the field to the waiting ambulance. Investigation found the homeowner outside with the activated alarm stating the CO alarm in the basement hall near the furnace that was alarming. Reading at the front door, and it showed 0 PPM. FF"s made there way around the first floor of the home with the same results. As crews made their way down the basement stairs, the CO level began to increase, eventually reading 38ppm next to the furnace boiler. IC advised the subject who was responsible for the fire that since we have been to this address 3 times this year for fires directly related to the property owner/occupants actions and what they are burning today, they may be subject to fines associated with ordinance violations. Investigation found the primary wires going from pole to pole through 5 pine trees arching and sparking, catching the tree on fire. The area was taped off. After several minutes of arching and sparking, the primary lines detached from the other pole, leaving live wires hanging in the trees. The breaker (fuse) did not pop at the top of the pole. C2 investigated and found a small tree had fallen on the secondary pole to pole wires that ran across Morrish Rd. The fire was 10 feet away from a garage and a strong south to north wind was present blowing the smoke and embers. The occupants were instructed to extinguish the fire due to the weather conditions and what was being burned. There were no fluid spills from that vehicle, and we were not able to locate the battery since the car was on its roof. 195 18 12/18 1544 4,000 block of Locust Ln, Swartz Creek Dispatched to a report of a CO alarm activation. E12 responded. Investigation found a reading of 16 ppm at the doorway. Further investigation found readings of 40ppm at the basement stairwell and readings of 50 ppm near the furnace. 197 16 12/23 2207 2,000 block of Carmnome, Clayton Twp. Dispatched for a report of arcing wires E21 responded. Investigation of the area showed no lines were down or arcing at the time. 198 16 12/24 0446 4,000 block of S. Elms Rd, Swartz Creek Responded to the area for a report of wires arching. Upon arrival a large commercial business sign was located in the middle of the road and on top of the communication lines and primary line were down on the ground arcing and sparking. Consumers shut off power to the area but advised they could not restring the power until the sign was removed. City DPW was requested and attempted to remove the sign with a back hole but could not. City then went and got barricades to block the lane off & SCAFD then caution taped the area off and cleared the scene. A crane company was contacted by the store manager to remove the sign Lieut. 199 18 12/24 0537 7,000 block of Parkridge, Swartz Creek Dispatched for a residential CO alarm activation. E12 & Capt. 5 responded. On arrival in the area power was knocked out from previous run # 198. Crew spoke with homeowner who stated that the alarms started to go off right around the same time power went out.
